Last month, on January 17, we hosted our Ribbon-Cutting and Rebranding Event to celebrate an exciting milestone in our company’s history: the transition from Desert Canyon Mortgage to DC Lending.
The Story of DC Lending
Our growth story is deeply rooted in family values.
We started as a small, family-owned home loan company, Desert Canyon Mortgage, in 1998. Over the past two decades, we’ve expanded, and the next generation has taken the helm. My son, James Sands, is now a Loan Officer and played a pivotal role in creating DC Lending and driving the company forward.
Through two generations, our family-operated business has continued to innovate, incorporating new technology and modern communication tools to better serve our customers. Despite this growth, we’ve remained committed to our core values—values that have helped us build long-lasting relationships and trust with our customers. Most importantly, we are dedicated to helping people through one of the most exciting moments of their lives: buying a home.
With all the changes over the years, we needed a new brand to reflect what sets us apart from other lenders. This led to the birth of DC Lending LLC, a locally-owned company that offers some of the most competitive loan prices in the Pacific Northwest.
We Couldn’t Have Done It Without Our Community
The event was a huge celebration, not just for us, but for the amazing people who’ve supported us along the way. We could not have built DC Lending without the support of our wonderful customers, partners, and friends. That’s why we decided to host an event that not only celebrated our achievements but also gave back to the people who matter most to our business.
A special thank you to:
- Paul Kuthe of Tributary Coaching
- Perspektiiv Design Co., a Portland creative branding studio
Both played key roles in our rebranding process, and we deeply appreciate their support.
The Event: A Huge Success
The Ribbon-Cutting and Rebranding Event was an incredible evening, filled with mingling, great conversations, and plenty of celebration. Guests enjoyed food, drinks, and live music by Joseph Sands on acoustic guitar and Lily Tran as the vocalist.
